The Cattery

Back in 1971 I fell in love with the Burmese breed and started my quest for a Burmese kitten. At that time the Burmese was relatively unknown and there were only a few in The Netherlands. It took a while, but finally I found what I had been looking for: my "Supercat", a little brown Burmese. It was love at first sight and the Burmese is still the breed for me. I started breeding with this cat and her name "Myra" became part of my cattery name. One of my current cats is a direct descendent of Myra: a great, great, great grandchild.

Because I have been working with so-called generations over the years, the character of the kittens is highly predictable. I enjoy discovering that some qualities are clearly carried from child to child, that is, they clearly stem from parents or grandparents, and sometimes even further back.

One of the main qualities of the Burmese cat is its friendliness towards children and people in general. They enjoy sitting on your lap and when they see the chance they will be the first to get in your bed. You may join them - with a bit of luck.

My visitors are usually greeted by the stud cat. He stands on his hind legs and mews for your attention. The other cats estimate the number of people and the possibilities to sit on their laps.

This sums up the Burmese cat: lively, inventive, a bit naughty, very alert and very cuddly - sometimes they are "piled up" in their basket - and soooo sweet. In short:

Burmese cats are.................... TOP CATS!!!
